How to design an Analog Exponential Amplifier also known as AntiLog amplifier is discussed in this op amp amplifier tutorial and example video that proves that output voltage is proportional to exp(input voltage). For more amplifier circuit examples see • Electrical Engineering, Analog, Digital De... .
This Anti Logarithm amplifier circuit is implemented with three operational amplifiers, a pair of matching BJT Bipolar Junction Transistors and one Tempco resistor (temperature compensating resistor) with positive temperature coefficient (like a PTC thermistor) that is thermally coupled and connected to the junction of the BJT pair. This Anti-log circuit is designed in such a way that the matching transistors remove the dependency on transistor saturation current that is exponentially temperature sensitive. The Tempco PTC resistor then removes the remaining linear dependency on temperature. A combination of Shockley PN Junction Voltage-Current Equation, Kirchhoff's Circuit Laws including KCL and KVL and op amp virtual short and negative feedback are applied in the circuit analysis to find the output voltage as a function of input voltage and to prove that Vout = e^(Vin).
