Marshall amps have provided an iconic look and sound for almost sixty years with the Vintage Modern, Silver Jubilee and JCM 800 being three of our favourites. That said, the Vintage Modern is a bit of a different beast so we decided to pitch these three amps against each other.

We used a load of different guitars, a Marshall Shredmaster and a Thorpy Peacekeeper. The cab was a M greenback loaded Fatboy 2x12.
One correction to make in the video (other than Joe telling Paul to not have his back to camera) is the Greenback's sensitivity rating is 98dB at 1W1m rather than 97, so is 2dB less than the V30.
