Ankle capsules stretch, into eversion or external rotation (the outwards movement of the ankle mortise joint). the purpose of the exercise is to create external rotation or eversion and creating better range of motion within the ankle, the key aspect thought the video is Pails which is the resistance contraction of muscles which are going in the opposite way into internal rotation or inversion Rails is the contraction which is active rotation into the range of motion. their are different variations of contraction all depends on the person and the injury. the Ankle Capsule stretch is just tot improve mobility and strengthening the muscles.
