The flashing light across the lake wasn’t random.
And the moment we realized that, it was already too late.
My friend and I were staying at his family’s remote lake house when we noticed a light blinking from across the water.
Three short flashes.
Three long.
Three short.
Even without knowing Morse code, we both recognized it: SOS.
We thought maybe someone needed help.
Curiosity beat logic, so we grabbed the kayak and paddled across the freezing lake.
The house was falling apart — abandoned dock, overgrown yard, no lights inside.
Upstairs, we found a projector aimed perfectly at the lake.
Then we heard footsteps running inside.
We bolted out of the house.
The kayak was gone.
Something was coming around the side of the house — fast.
We jumped into the lake and swam for our lives, lungs burning.
Police later said the house had been empty for years.
