Lantau Peak (鳳凰山) | The BEST sunrise hike in Hong Kong! [Hiking Vlog #11]

Описание: Lantau Peak (鳳凰山) is the highest mountain on Lantau island and the 2nd tallest peak in Hong Kong, next to Tai Mo Shan, standing at 934m. In my opinion, Lantau has the most amazing landscape views and this hike is perfect for viewing the sunrise (or even sunset) as it views the 3rd highest mountain in Hong Kong, Sunset Peak. There are also amazing ridge hikes around the area such as the infamous Dog's Teeth Ridge (known for its difficulty around) and you are able to end the hike on the touristy Ngong Ping Village, home of the Tian Tan Big Buddha and Wisdom Path in Lantau.

On this vlog, I do a sunrise hike with my friends starting at 3am and doing Lantau Peak trail for 2hrs, just in time to catch the views. We were greeted by a misty and chilly weather at the top. I managed to shoot a couple of photos of the scenes and my friends and returned to Ngong Ping Village after a long time (unfortunately Big Buddha was on renovation these days). I also talk about why sunrises are my preferred hikes despite going more often on sunsets.

To get to Lantau Peak, there are a number of options starting from Tung Chung, Ngong Ping Village, or Mui Wo, but the route we took for the sunrise hike was to take a cab from Tung Chung MTR station and alight at Pak Kung Au. There will be signs that lead to Lantau trail and it is a straight up hike from there.
