Today, I am sharing a very tasty and Delicious recipe of Skinned black Gram Dessert (उड़द दाल की पिन्नी), a Punjabi sweet recipe , prepared with roasted skinned black gram . Mawa ( Milk solids ) and various dry fruits. It is prepared especially during Winters and Indian festival like diwali, ganesh chaturthi and navaratri and other family functions .
INGREDIENTS :
1 Cup Skinned Black gram , Washed Throughly and soaked in water for 6-7 hours.
2 Cup sugar,
250 Gms. Mawa / Khoya ( Milk solids ), Roasted.
1 Cup Clarified Butter,
Handful of Broken cashew nuts,
6-7 Cardamom powder,
½ Cup Edible gum,
Handful of chopped Almonds,
RECIPE :
Put Skinned Black gram in a Mixer Grinder, add little water, do not add more water as Soaked Black gram has water contents in it.
Make a fine paste of it.
Heat a fry Pan on Gas Stove, Put 3-4 Tbsp of Clarified Butter, add Black Gram Paste and roast it nicely until turn Golden Brown.
Keep stirring constantly on medium flames.
Transfer to a mixing pot and set aside for cooling for 5-10 minutes.
Put 2 Tbsp of clarified Butter again in a Pan , add edible gum and roast till turn golden brown. Keep Stirring.
Transfer to a plate and crush it nicely , once cool down, Else, You can grind it . Transfer to the mixing pot.
Put again 1 Tbsp of clarified butter , add Almonds, cashew nuts and roast nicely,
Transfer to the mixing pot.
Put Sugar in a Fry Pan add 1 cup of water and make 1 String sugar syrup. Keep stirring till sugar melts fully. You can check 1 String by putting syrup in between finger and thumb, draw it if 1 string is formed , means ok.
Add Mawa in the mixing pot and mix nicely.
Add sugar syrup and mix again nicely, add Cardamom powder and mix again,
Set aside the mixture for cooling for 5-10 minutes.
Split the Almonds in two pieces,
Take a small dough and give them a square or any shape , you want,
Place 1 split almond on it and press gently ,
A very tasty Urad daal pinni is ready .
