One of the most mysterious promises associated with the New Covenant is the idea that God would no longer hold our sin and trespasses against us. This is true because of the complete work Jesus accomplished in his death, burial and resurrection. Sin is never "ok" but the good news is God is not currently relating to us based upon our actions but rather the condition of our spirit. Once we receive Christ we are made new, living spirits and the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. A believer never has an excuse for sin, we have the very life of God within us empowering us to live above the lure of temptation.
