Film Theory's New Hazbin Hotel Theory Makes No Sense

Today film theory made their first hazbin hotel theory in 5 years. I watched it and it contains a bunch of errors, so i want to talk about it.

So i covered this a few years ago but film theory when it was ran by matpat made a theory video about hazbin hotel. It was genuinely awful and got a bunch of criticism, especially from people who worked on the show.

Today they broke this hiatus by uploading a new one called Film Theory: Hazbin Hotel is a SCAM!

Basically the premise of the video is that heaven is hell’s version of purgatory or limbo. This would explain some of the inconsistencies in the story.

It just generally makes no sense and makes insane assumptions based on limited or broken evidence.

Firstly the video says that characters in heaven resemble demons because they’re in hell. Stella is used as evidence of this, and they mention a winner that resembles a spider.

They completely missed that this winner is called molly, angel’s sister. And that the reason stella resembles the angels is because the ars goetia were made by lucifer, he made them in heaven’s image.

They call saint peter saint paul.

They get confused over katie killjoy mentioning 9 circles in the pilot, saying there’s 9 rings in the show. There’s 7 rings, however in the pride ring there’s 9 circles. This is shown in helluva boss.

Lastly they say most of the theory was written before season 2 aired, so that’s why it makes little sense.

Honestly this is a massive shame, they’ve had 2 opportunities to make theories on the show and somehow missed both times.
