Heya! It's our Day 4 in The States!
We went to the Eastern State Penitentiary.. It is known for its grand architecture and strict discipline. This was the world's first true “penitentiary,” a prison designed to inspire penitence, or true regret, in the hearts of prisoners. It was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers. We highly recommend visiting this place if you're fascinated by the criminal mind, fading ruins, and history in its most infamous. Definitely one of the highlights of our US trip!
Next, we went to the place where Rocky Balboa used to train, the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
We had a quick lunch at Reading Terminal Market. We kinda had a hard time choosing from a variety of delectable dishes!
Then, we headed to the Independence Mall where you can find the Liberty Bell. It is an iconic symbol of American independence. The Liberty Bell cracked up, literally, when it was rung on President’s Day, celebrated on Washington’s birthday, and then stopped ringing because of damage from a major crack.
Got the chance to see the largest playing organ in the world. It is called
"The Wanamaker Grand Organ" at Macy's Center City.
An architectural treasure inside and out, The Philadelphia City Hall is the largest municipal building in the United States.
You can never leave Philly without having their very own PHILLY CHEESESTEAK! You might have heard of "PAT'S & GENO'S".. Pat's and Geno's isn't one cheese steak shop, they are actually two competitors across the street from each other. Philly cheesesteak war! So who won our hearts? Hmm.. ;)
