Описание: The National Marine Fisheries Service counts on Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles to carry out the goals of the Marine Mammal Protection Act. During 26 years of being open, the hospital has admitted approximately 8,000 seals and sea lions. These precious marine mammals arrive in all ages and sizes: (1) Pups-recently born yet malnourished because they separated from their mothers before they've learned to eat fish; (2) Young adults - victims of shark bites, bullet wounds, domoic acid poisoning from algae blooms, and ingestion of plastics; (3) Older adults - blind, like Buddy who is now at The Los Angeles Zoo; (4) All ages - tangled in fishing line or nets, or exposed to oil spills. We even provide triage support for dolphins that require transport to the larger hospital in San Diego.
