They discuss why this matters for companies with many data sources, rapid change, or frequent acquisitions and divestments. Instead of forcing everything into the ERP, keep each business in its own operational system, and unify insight in a dedicated data platform. That approach makes it easier to turn data on or off, align business definitions, and avoid expensive and complex data movement.

The conversation also covers why “serial copying” is being replaced by secure sharing models. You do not always need to move data. You can access it, govern who can see what, and still build AI and machine learning capabilities on top of trusted information.
