CIF Southern Section Div 7 Championship Game between Apple Valley High School and Barstow.
Having repeated an undefeated Desert Sky League victory, threepeteing in the 102 rivalry Axe game against Victorville High School, and returning to the playoff after losing last year against Dana Hills, Barstow held Apple Valley to one touchdown to win ten to seven repeating a championship when the Riffians won division two in 1969.
With under thirty seconds left in the game the score board went blank, a fitting omen to the end of the game, time had run out for Apple Valley.
