Warmonger - Fan Made Skar King Theme (Monsterverse Rescored: GxK)

This is Skar King's theme for the Monsterverse Rescored Series, titled "Warmonger." This video is meant to familiarize viewers with this theme before I start using it in the rescore series. I'm probably gonna play around with it a lot to make as much use of Skar King's (in my opinion too low) screen time. Think of this as a "presentation" of what I will be using.

As those who saw my poll would know, this is heavily inspired by Akira Ifikube's classic King Kong vs. Godzilla Theme, as the overwhelming majority of you guys voted for his theme to be a "dark mirror" of that theme. Considering that I've been using Ifikube's 1962 theme as a sort of "main theme" for the Wingard duology, meant as an anthem for bringing Godzilla and Kong together on the big screen, it felt fitting that the one who caused the great war between their two species would have a theme that takes heavily from the Ifikube one.

I was struggling with this at first, but then about a month ago I finally realized all I had to was just invert the intervals of the first two notes, and then the ball really got rolling. I kept the same basic melodic shape of the original, but played around with the rhythm to make it sound more militaristic, and almost industrial in a way. I also decided to have a more minor sounding variation on Kong's theme used as on ostinato to tie into his more ancient side, and to emphasize his contrast to Kong. And finally, I decided to include the chanting from the original Ifikube theme.

I am genuinely so glad that I was able to get this out. I had a sudden burst of motivation and decided that doing Skar King's theme for the rescore series would be a great way to continue to get myself used to the new EastWest Libraries, and give you all some Godzilla content after over a month of waiting. I hope it was worth it!
