The built motor is finally in the truck.
After chasing oil pressure issues with the factory engine for weeks, we decided to stop guessing and step it up. In this video, we skip the teardown and jump straight to the new setup installed, fired up, and going through its first break-in drive.
What we cover:
First startup of the built engine
Diagnosing the previous oil pressure problem
Replacing the oil-related components and sensors
Installing a transmission oil cooler
Monitoring data with HP Tuners
First road test and real-time oil pressure checks
Engine pull vs. cab-off discussion
Plans for dyno pulls and track testing
Previously, the truck would lock oil pressure around 48–50 psi under load instead of increasing properly. That led to a lot of second-guessing — mechanical issue or wiring problem? With the new motor in, we’re watching oil pressure, oil temp, fuel trims, and overall drivability to make sure everything is finally working the way it should.
We also go over:
Why we prefer crimped AN lines over reusable fittings
Transmission temp management with the new cooler setup
How long the engine swap actually took (about 6–7 hours)
Future plans, including transmission changes and more power
The truck feels good again, oil pressure is stable, and next up is getting it on the dyno and making real pulls.
Subscribe to follow the build as we dial this thing in and push it further.
