Practical Geometry - Circles
10th Class Mathematics Science Group, Exercise 13.3 Question no 9

Direct common tangents:
A common tangent is called a direct common tangent if the circles lie on same sides of it.

Transverse common tangents:
A common tangent is called a transverse common tangent if the circles lie on opposite sides of it.

Circle:
A circle is the set of all points in a plane that are equidistant from
a given point called the center of the circle.

Radius:
The a line segment from the center of the circle to any point on the circle is a
radius of the circle.

Circumference:
The circumference of a circle is the length around the circle.

Chord:
A chord is a line segment that has any two points on the circumference as its
end-points. A chord always lies inside a circle.

Diameter:
A diameter of a circle is a chord that contains the center of the circle.

Secant:
A secant is a line that intersects the circle at two points.

Arc:
An arc is a portion of the circumference of a circle.
minor arc, major arc

Circumcircle:
A circle that passes through all of the vertices of a polygon is called a Circumcircle or Circumscribed circle. The center of the Circumcircle is called the Circumcenter, and the radius of the Circumcircle is called the Circumradius.

Incircle:
An incircle is an inscribed circle of a polygon, i.e., a circle that is tangent to each of the polygon's sides. The center of the incircle is called the incenter, and the radius of the circle is called the inradius.

Perpendicular bisector:
A perpendicular bisector can be defined as a line segment which intersects another line perpendicularly and divides it into two equal parts.

Angle bisector:
Angle bisector in geometry refers to a line that splits an angle into two equal angles.

Draw two common tangents to two touching circles of radius 2.5 cm and 3.5 cm.
