The 1-st part of the complex animation shows the path of the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse known as the 2024 Great American Eclipse. It includes 4 major views: the top with Google Hybrid overlay (325km altitude), the shadow in & out (50km altitude), and local views (mountain peaks or city views from 3-5km altitude).
Various graphic techniques have been applied through this presentation, including Google Hybrid overlay and Google Earth atmosphere mode (mountain view).
The movie is concentrated on Mexico, where the umbra crosses the North American Cordillera, making the local vistas spectacular from the hilltops soaring above 3000m.a.s.l. The video displays briefly shadow movement above the biggest cities like Mazatlan, Durango, Torreon, or Piedras Negras in the span of 10-30 seconds depending on the local circumstances (mostly 10 seconds).
Mexico will experience the greatest eclipse with a 4m28s duration in Durango. The Moon's shadow has been encircled by a 5km grazing zone area, which corresponds to the smallest Baily's Beads appearance, just before and after the totality.
This GIS-based video has been made with the eclipse data based both on NASA.gsfc.eclipse service and Xavier Jubier eclipse page, from where I picked up the most important calculations. I also used the Eclipse24.org webpage in order to grab the local area boundaries and Peakfinder.org to identify local mountain panoramas.

I would like also to encourage you to read about the lunar shadow view from different perspectives against the ground.
