Описание: Nepantla is the experience of living in two worlds simultaneously. The project is composed of three archways that represent different aspects of the surrounding community. The first experience represents the coming and going between two worlds, just as the monarch butterfly does when it flies through Phoenix. The second experience draws from Meso-American cityscapes that are mirrored by modern day Phoenix. This gateway is about living in two eras at the same time. The third experience is about living within two cultures at the same time. The moon watches over the night when stories are told, myths remembered and culture flourishes.

The Public Art Program by the City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture supports creating and presenting original, new, or in-process artistic work by practicing Phoenix artists.

The project located at 55th Ave Promenade, Maryvale Neighborhood, Phoenix, Arizona between Indian School Road and Camelback Road.
