This Bois d’Arc (Osage Orange) tree came down over two years ago, long before we bought the ranch—but it left a mess we had to clean up.
When it fell, it took out the entire fence corner, leaving behind a massive trunk and limbs buried in the brush. Our goal in this video:
Clear the tree
Reclaim the fence corner
Haul the trunk off for milling
Bois d’Arc (or Osage Orange) wood is incredibly heavy and dense, which made removal anything but simple. I used my RAM 2500 Power Wagon and its 12,000 lb winch with multiple rigging setups to move the main trunk.
Watch as we:
✅ Cut back the brush and limbs
✅ Set up multiple winch riggings
✅ Slowly extract and move the Bois d’Arc trunk
✅ Prepare the area for future fence repair
We’re keeping this wood for milling—it’s too good to waste.
