We were filming this trying to have fun but I was as serious as I could when I was recording the sound. I have been in love with this music for more than 25 years and
I have just realised how I can let it flow: you can join a band to play Pink Floyd' The Wall but its almost impossible to bring dozensof people together to play JCSS. Sometimes you have to wait for the right decision. It seems to me that I had known this opera even before most of Beatles' albums: I was nearly eight when my parents fixed their vintage reel-to-reel tape-recorder.
One of two or three tapes they had in their collection (ABBA was the second) was the tape with the "Opera" as we called JCSS those times. So I'm pretty sure we didn't use to listen to other operas those days.The shiver that this music evoked in me when I was eight was the same that Since I've Been Loving You and Kashmir would evoke in me years later.
These days when I'm reading notation of JCSS and listening to it on the CD I can say that the quality of the record on my first tape was awful: I realised that I had never known about some of the very importantparts as I couldn't hear them in the sound of the orchestra. And thisvideo is just the best I can do for that eight-year boy in me who still shivers listening to the great music.The cat is called Telecaster and he had already had just one half of the tail when I found him on the street. As every home cat in the world he needsmore attention and of course he couldn't miss a chance to be shown on Youtube.

звук. Я люблю эту музыку уже что-то около 23-25 лет, и только сейчас понял, какой выход можно этой любви дать: ведь если можно организовать трибьютную группу для игры в Pink Floyd, то организовать огромный оркестр для игры JCSS представляется практически невоплотимым. Иногда приходится немного
подождать, прежде чем найдешь правильное решение.
Кажется, что я узнал эту музыку даже раньше, чем некоторые битловские альбомы: мне было около восьми лет, у родителей однажды восстал из пепла бобинный магнитофон, и из двух или трех пленок, которые были в аудиотеке, была одна с "оперой", как мы ее тогда называли. Из чего можно сделать вывод, что других опер мы тогда не слушали. Дрожь, которую вызывала эта музыка тогда, когда мне было восемь - та самая, которую спустя восемь лет (то есть непреодолимую вечность спустя) стали вызывать Since Ive Been Loving You и Kashmir. Еще была кассета, которую мы слушали в автомобиле ВАЗ 2108, на котором ездили на дачу. Уже сейчас, разбирая эту музыку по нотам, слушая ее на CD, я смог оценить качество звука на тогдашних бобинах и магнитофонных пленках: как выяснилось, о существовании некоторых заметных партий я и не подозревал, так как никогда их не мог разобрать в звучании оркестра.
