There are few artists in hip-hop that are as intelligent and bright as Mr. Lif. A legend on the Boston scene and member of The Perceptionists, active for over 20 years - he has done a lot during his career, but he does not plan to hang up the microphone anytime soon. At the end of last year, the conscious MC created a duo Vangarde with the producer Stu Bangas, releasing their debut album under this banner, and on this occasion, as well as on the occasion of several other anniversaries, we called Lif for an extensive, unique interview.

As befits one of the most eloquent songwriters in Rap, Lif turned out to be a wonderful, lovable, open interlocutor, and there was no end to the plots and stories. In the first part of the conversation, the rapper told us, e.g., about the desire to pay tribute to Gang Starr with the Vangarde project, the current "new normality" so well illustrated in the music video "The New Normal", memories of cooperation with GURU, the 15th anniversary of the release of The Perceptionists' debut album "Black Dialogue" and various placements of their hit "Let's Move", a memorable tour with Shock G (Digital Underground), as well as the challenges of pressure and acceptance of the "second album"...
