Celebrating 5 years of shaping my pear trees! Watch how it transformed year by year:
🌱 Year 1: Cut it about hip-high to encourage strong branching.
🌿 Year 2: Chose some main scaffold branches as side shoots develop.
🍃 Year 3: Thin out weak branches and retain multiple levels of scaffolds, remove vigorous growth, and train a strong central leader.
🌳 Year 4: Headed it back to maintain height in summer and open up the center for better airflow through thinning.
🌟 Year 5+: Continued annual heading and thinning cuts to shape a balanced, productive tree! Get ready for fruit!!!
