Another privately owned unit which we filmed at the start of December, the 2018 Volkswagen Polo GTI.
With it VW introduced the EA888 2.0L engine for the first time in a Polo GTI. The turbo-petrol four-pot develops 142kW and 320Nm driving the front wheels via a six-speed DSG.
What this means is that the peak Polo can accelerate from a halt to 100km/h in 6,7 seconds and top 237km/h. Claimed fuel consumption is at 5.9L/100km.
