Today, we’re using the Penguin Sampler to create mini collage studies through a Palette Play focused on analogous color combinations. This is a calm, low-pressure way to explore color relationships using simple strip layouts—while creating pieces that can stand on their own or serve as foundations for future sketching and mixed media work.

SUPPLIES TO COLLAGE ALONG:
• Penguin Sampler Page
• Substrate (4 × 4 inch chipboard used in this video)
• Scissors or tearing by hand
• Matte Mod Podge & Brush
• Scrap paper for testing placement
• Wet and dry cloth
• Silicone craft mat

STUDIO TIP:
Even without adding anything else, these can be finished pieces—but they also make a great foundation for sketching and mixed media. Try creating several versions using different analogous color pairings to see how each palette shifts the mood.
