In a world of limp video game discussion, ranging from "thing good" to "thing bad" to even "thing exist," we need to dispel the smokescreen, find the interesting bits, and get the real scoop. Or at least one interpretation, anyway. Folklore PS3 is one of the console's landlocked gems, but more importantly, Folklore is a labyrinthine piece of work that confounded almost anyone who covered it. It's understandable - the game is bizarre, and hardly sells itself well. It resists immediate understanding with its plot, its demanding gameplay, and even its original box art. And hiding under all of the dressing is a larger lineage that mostly goes undetected.
