The Michelin Tweel is a revolutionary tire and wheel assembly for skid steer machines that uses high strength poly resin spokes instead of air to support the load of the machine. This allows for a virtually zero down time tire without the drawbacks and limitations of solid skid steer tires.
Pete's Tire Barns believes that they are the first retread shop in the country to successfully retread a Michelin Tweel. After buffing down the surface of the Tweel, Pete's retread technicians Dennis McCarthy and Jared Derosiers filled in the remaining gaps with rubber and applied a new tread. After curing for more then 4 hours under both heat and pressure, a high quality retreaded Tweel rolled out of their retread plant in Orange, MA. "The ability to retread this revolutionary product maximizes the value for our customers and saves landfill space" said Pete's Tire Barns President Peter Gerry. The next test for this retreaded Michelin Tweel will be in the field and Pete's Tire Barns has scheduled a real world test for the tire in a local glass recycling facility.
