Ridge Racer on the original PlayStation was an early "killer app" for Sony's machine - everyone loved it!!
Except me!! 32 years later... can I change my mind?!
As a fan of SEGA's arcade machines, I couldn't believe that Namco's ropey racer got so much love from the gaming media - and on home consoles I couldn't believe people thought this was great when Daytona and SEGA Rally were available on Saturn!
Now, I revisit the game - its handling, its graphics, its music - and try to learn to love it. With the help of suggestions from social media, I'm going to revisit this seminal title and see if I can understand its appeal.
