STORYLINE:

U.S. soldiers at Camp X-Ray in Guantanamo Bay escorted suspected al-Qaida and Taliban members for examination on Sunday night.

Some of the prisoners were naked except for a towel as they were escorted by soldiers to be examined.

All the prisoners were blindfolded, handcuffed, shackled and had their mouths covered.

All prisoners who arrive at the US base are showered and then given physical examinations.

As detainees continue to arrive at Guantanamo, international criticism of their treatment continues to mount.

The International Red Cross says it considers the men prisoners of war, and says published photos of them violates the Geneva Convention because the photos expose them to "public curiosity."

A federal judge in Los Angeles will hear a petition on Tuesday filed by civil rights advocates challenging the detention of the terror suspects at the base.

The petition was filed by a coalition of Los Angeles clergy, journalism professors and civil rights attorneys.

It demands that the US government bring them before a court and define the charges against them.

There are currently 150 prisoners being held at Camp X-Ray.
