Mumbai's Coronavirus Mess | Dharavi's curve flattens, but cases in MMR surge

Описание: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region which is the most congested and the most neglected neighbourhood of the city has now crossed the 1 lakh mark in COVID-19 cases. The region itself has reported over 70% cases from Maharashtra. Mumbai also has accounted for 59% of deaths in the State. The new biggest challenge for Mumbai remains the low testing of patients. Around 3 lakhs tests are conducted till June 23 and only 4500 tests are conducted on a daily basis. Despite the surging number of Coronavirus cases, the city lacks behind in testing procedures.

Dharavi, however, witnessed a massive dip in COVID-19 cases and deaths. The area which was once a major hotspot for a pandemic is now winning the COVID-19 battle. 2 COVID-19 care centres have been shut in this region.
