25 years ago TODAY, Batman 1989 premiered in theaters. And I was there opening night. It was also Batman's 50th Anniversary that year, so Batmania was in full swing all summer! I was completely obsessed with this movie when it came out, and in the end saw it 3 times in the theater, have owned it on VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, and presently have TWO Blu-ray editions. Plus the novelization, the comic book adaptation, both soundtrack albums, and about 5 hours of news stories, reviews and interviews about the movie taped off TV that year. Yeah, I was nuts about this movie big time. And still am!
So to celebrate, join me for a Batdance with this special live event in which I watch (and discuss) the 1989 movie 25 years to the day after its premiere. You'll have to bring your own copy, of course, but I'm betting most of you out there also own this movie in at least one, if not more, editions.
