In this video, we move on to Question #3: "Why Trust The New Testament Canon?"

This question highlights Jehovah's Witnesses' strange reliance upon those it openly calls "pagan." Namely, the post-Apostolic church.

The Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, which produces all official Jehovah's Witnesses publications, teaches that the true Christian church became thoroughly paganized immediately after the death of the last of the original 12 disciples. (John, 100 A.D.)

Because there was no intact "New Testament" by this date, Jehovah's Witnesses rely upon 27 books that were not officially codified until the late 4th century by the Council of Hippo (393 A.D.) and Council of Carthage. (397 A.D.)

There were earlier canons (like Marcion's 11 book New Testament canon) among others. Why do Jehovah's Witnesses have a New Testament that is based on what the "pagan" fourth-century Christian church considered correct?

While Jehovah's Witnesses are often well versed in the New World Translation, they are often deficient in their understanding of how the Bible, particularly the New Testament, came to be.
