Based off my own head cannon where Gojo tried his best to be like a father to Megumi. Problem is that most people point out to Megumi that Gojo doesn’t look to be his father. In return, Megumi decides to push Gojo away by rejecting his affection and care for him. Gojo is obviously hurt by this and bad mouths Toji, Megumi’s biological father, but in doing so hurts Megumi’s feelings.
[They have nicknames for each other which is another head cannon where Megumi couldn’t pronounce ‘Satoru’ so they stuck with Ruru. Gumi is just Gojo trying to balance the nickname game]
