Optimized Yuffie / Aerith Cheese & AP Farming

A lot of people have asked me about specifics and pointers, and in my DM's those same questions have lead to discussions about AP farming methods. Now that I've finally got my platinum, I went ahead and made a video & guide about it. Probably, a lot of this has been covered elsewhere, but since I was asked directly...

These are the most optimized builds and methods I could come up with for the post game content. So far, everything else has been a breeze. This is what I came up with to make the legendary VR Missions as brainless as possible.

   • Optimized Yuffie / Aerith Cheese & AP Farming  

The materia setups are this for the VR fight:

Aerith @ Enhanced Psychic's Charm
Gambenteinn - MP Absorb = Fire | Magnify = Fire | First Strike | Magic Up
Cetrain Bracer - Elemental = Fire | Swiftcast = Fire & Ice | Magic Efficiency = Fire | Magic Focus = Fire
Summon - Phoenix
Yuffie @ Speed Demon Keychain
Crescent Sickle - HP Absorb = Enemy Skill | Magnify = Barrier | First Strike | HP Up
Cetran Armlet - Precision Defense | ATB Assist | MP Up | Elemental = Fire | Revival | ATB Boost | Healing Materia|
Summon - Greg/Alex/Odi

Barret @ Chocoking's Cape
Battle Cry: Magnify = Barrier | Healing | Time | MP Up | HP Up
Hades Armlet: Prayer | Revival | ATB Boost | MP Absorb = Fire | Elemental = Fire |

You can use the same Aerith build to easily gain insane AP rates at the elite sahagin trial, as well (27 each run, clears instantaneously).


For the fights where you need to avoid being affected by enemy abilities (such as the 6th battle), swap some of barret's and yuffie's gear out for the appropriate warding combinations, and give Aerith a ribbon.



In terms of optimizations:
Made room for more support materia on support characters (Barret & Yuffie)
Added some DPS and self-sustain capacity to yuffie.
Increased Aerith's Firaga efficacy
Changed overall teamcomp to be more about survivability
Added Magnify = Barrier so you can just facetank sephiroth.

It still cleans up in sub 10 (8:37 to be exact).
