I had a plan before I started this lure but half way through I realized it was not going how I planned. Painting lures is almost always an adventure. Airbrushing this crankbait was no different. When I was about to give up on the design, I took the lure to the sink to wash off the paint and start again. As I was rubbing the opaque black paint off I realized that the paint was staying in the scale textures and in the crevasses I couldn't get into with my wash cloth. The lure started to look more and more like some sort of ancient looking lure. I think I've seen a similar design on old Chinese clothing or pottery. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with the final result.
