Описание: Massachusetts brutal death metal trio MATRIPHAGY return with ‘From Nothing to Nothingness’, a merciless new EP that thrives at the intersection of twisted technicality and blunt-force brutality, set for release January 23 on digital and CD via Iron Fortress Records.

‘From Nothing to Nothingness’ delivers a nonstop barrage of pulverizing blast beats, spine-splintering slams, and tightly wound, violent riffing. Guitars cut through the mix with manic sweep-picked runs and deranged dive bombs, while the drums lock everything into place with inhuman ferocity. At the centre of the chaos, the vocals shift between cavernous, gut-churning gutturals and ear piercing squeals that surface without warning, reinforcing the EP’s hostile, unforgiving nature.

Among the EP’s most punishing moments is MATRIPHAGY’s disfigured reworking of the Cryptopsy classic ‘Benedictine Convulsions’. The band tears the track apart and reforges it into a hulking modern monstrosity, while retaining the technical brutality of the original intact. That same level of savagery carries through the EP’s bonus material, which includes tracks from the band’s ‘Mass Death’ split with Wretched Inferno, alongside the full ‘Abysm of Time’ EP, appearing on CD for the first time, reinforcing the release’s relentless pacing and total lack of compromise.

Formed in 2016, MATRIPHAGY consists of Devin Dickinson (guitar/vocals) and Will Robinson (drums/vocals), both of Wretched Inferno, alongside Ray Brouwer (guitar/bass) of Ancient Death. With two prior EPs and a split release with Wretched Inferno, the band has steadily refined a sound that continues to push brutal death metal into increasingly punishing territory.
