The World's Weirdest Volcano; Ol Doinyo Lengai

Описание: There exists a volcano whose "cold" lava resembles water, is enriched in valuable rare earth elements, and can flow at speeds exceeding 30 miles per hour. And, once this lava cools, it rapidly changes in color from black to white. Found at no other active volcano, Ol Doinyo Lengai's natrocarbonatite lava is quite a fascinating phenomena, which this video will attempt to explain.

Note: "Cold" in this case indicates a lava with a temperature of 500 - 600 degrees Celsius (still quite hot and should not be touched) when most lava flows average 900 - 1200 degrees Celsius when freshly erupted.
