"After take-off: the front wheel did not go into place. It was ~ 1 hour in the air while trying to find a solution. Out of fuel, it had to take the plane. And when the plane broke to the left, then the pilot decided to eject. According to the first investigations was not total loss of the aircraft! In the video you can see that the seat remained under the pilot (the seat weight 80kg)! Therefore, the pilot suffered injuries on impact!"

"The accident happened when the plane's wheels failed during a training mission, said Lieutenant General Zoltan Orosz, deputy chairman of the joint chiefs of staff. The experienced pilot tried to land the Gripen on its belly before ejecting himself when the jet turned sideways and became uncontrollable."
