The Longing is a 2020 point-and-click adventure game created by indie game developer Studio Seufz in which you play as a small underworld character known as The Shade. Your task? Bide your time for 400 real-time days as you wait to awaken an ancient king. 👑
The Longing is more than just a slow-paced task simulator, it gives us time for introspection. Throughout The Longing you will experience the dwindling and rapidly shifting mental health of The Shade, struggles that easily harken back to the player. 💭
This is my second ever video essay. I know there's a lot I can improve on, and am already implementing those fixes into future content. But, until then, I hope this will suffice for now...
