Highlights of the last week's exposition at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, AB, Canada on August 27, 2021.
The museum is currently closed for major renovations that are expected to last for 3 years.
I've decided to showcase some of the collections that caught the most attention. Such as: the hyperrealist giant face by Ron Mueck, the collections of selected paintings and sculptures based on very Canadian themes and the Pacific Northwest, the exposition by Kent Mockman including the shocking painting "Shame and Prejudice" that depicts a first nations' perspective on residential schools, a bison hide that tells the story of Calgary Stampede, and lastly an exposition on indigenous art from arctic tribes.
At the time there were other expositions, such as the amazing work of Maud Lewis, but I decided not to include those.
