✨ 👉🏼 The verb “tocar” translates to “touch” and “play”, but here are a few more uses that you probably didn’t know.

🔥🔥 Toqué el horno y me quemé. / I touched the oven and I burned myself.

🎸🎸 Mi sobrino toca la guitarra en una banda. / My nephew plays the guitar in a band.

✨ 👉🏼 To touch, reach. 🟰 El librero toca el techo, es muy alto. / The bookcase reaches the ceiling, it’s very tall.

✨ 👉🏼 To get a chance or a turn (frequently not having to ask for it). 🟰 Hoy me tocó hacer el desayuno. / Today it was my turn to make breakfast.

✨ 👉🏼 To mention. 🟰 No se tocó el tema del viaje en la reunión, no hubo tiempo. / The topic of the trip wasn’t mentioned during the meeting, there wasn’t time.

✨ 👉🏼 To be entitled. 🟰 Me toca quedarme con el carro de la abuela y a ti con la camioneta. / I get to keep grandma’s car and you get the van.
