Today we’re working on L is for Layered Lace and M is for Mixed Media, creating a beautifully textured layered belly band for a junk journal.

In this project, we’ll combine different forms of lace—such as crochet lace, eyelet, lace trims, and fabric scraps—with layered papers like book pages, vintage-style prints, and coffee- or tea-dyed paper. To bring everything to life, we’ll add mixed media details using Stickles, Nuvo Drops, or dimensional accents to highlight textures and create soft sparkle and visual interest.

This layered belly band is perfect for holding journal cards, tags, ephemera, or notes, while adding gorgeous dimension to your journal pages. These prompts are all about using what you have, layering with intention, and letting texture tell the story.
