Built in 1898/ 1899 and home to a huge searchlight.
This served Fort Warden that is sadly no more..
The searchlight bolted to the floor here in World War 2 had an approximate range of 3500 yards.
The searchlight was remotely controlled by operators in an observation post at the fort, and was powered by large Lister stationary diesel generators housed at the fort also.
A very well known building.. (It's difficult to miss). and not yet smashed to pieces as the fort sadly was.
