What does the rising number of ICE detainees mean for Southern Nevada?

Описание: The number of people detained by immigration and Customs Enforcement in Nevada continues to grow, with now 425 detainees being held at two facilities in southern Nevada, the Henderson Detention Center and the Nevada Southern Detention Center in Pahrump.

With a current case load of 287, the continued growth of people being held under ICE custody in Southern Nevada has far outgrown the number of pro bono attorneys at the UNLV Immigration Clinic.

Updated ICE Detention statistics from August 14 show that out of the 425 detainees currently being held in southern Nevada, 295, or 69 percent, have been categorized as having no threat level under ICE's standards.
