Описание: Here are some top attractions you must see in Montgomery, Alabama. Montgomery is home to a lot of great history. For example, Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, Jr. have left a legacy in Montgomery, Alabama. Montgomery is the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States which largely ran from the 1950s until the 1960s. Rosa Parks was famous for heroically declining to move out of her seat due to segregation laws in Alabama in the 50s which led to her arrest and resulted in the Montgomery Bus Boycott that took place for over a year. Martin Luther King, Jr, who was a minister in Montgomery at the time, helped organize and coordinate the boycott. These events would eventually lead to significant changes as the Civil Rights Movement progressed to help strive for more equality among all.

I got the chance to visit Montgomery for a day to visit the Rosa Parks Museum (filming was not permitted inside) to learn more about Rosa Parks and the bus boycott, see the church where MLK, Jr. was a minister, see the Alabama State Capitol, visit the Museum of Alabama, check out the Legacy Museum along with the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and get some delicious Southern cuisine at the Farmers Market Cafe.

Montgomery has plenty of things to see and do while learning a lot of history.
