Surah Al-Ghashiyah presents a vivid picture of the Day of Judgment, also known as the Overwhelming Event 🌍⚖️. It begins by asking, “Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]?” reminding us of the inevitable day when every soul will be accountable for its actions.
The Surah describes two groups of people:
1. The faces of those in misery: They will be exhausted and humiliated 😓, entering Hellfire 🔥 because they denied the truth and ignored the signs of Allah.
2. The faces of those in bliss: They will be radiant with joy and serenity 🌿✨, enjoying eternal blessings in the Gardens of Paradise 🏞️, where they will never experience sorrow or exhaustion.
The Surah ends by reminding us to reflect on the signs of Allah in the creation of the heavens, the mountains, and the Earth 🏔️🌌, encouraging us to ponder His power and greatness.
