I took on the challenge of running 50 miles along Marriott’s Way in Norwich as part of my training for my 100-mile ultra marathon in April. This historic trail, stretching 26 miles from Norwich to Aylsham, follows an old railway line and offers a mix of scenic countryside, wooded paths, and long stretches of gravel and dirt trails—perfect for endurance training.
This run was tough—mentally and physically. The distance pushed my limits, and there were moments when I questioned whether I could finish. But these challenges are exactly what I need to prepare for the Chester 100. Though I didn’t feel strong the entire way, I know I’m making progress, and this run proved that I’m on track for race day.
