Explore Vancouver Island’s Wild West Coast on a cruise aboard the MV Uchuck III departing from Gold River, BC. These cruises give you a glimpse into the maritime culture and the history of Nootka Sound, Esperanza Inlet and Kyuquot Sound. Nootka Sound is known as the “Birthplace of British Columbia” as it is the location of first contact with European Explorers and First Nations People. Stops are made along the way at fish farms, logging camps, lodges, remote settlements and to drop off kayakers at remote locations. The MV Uchuck III also picks up hikers at Friendly Cove who have completed the Nootka Trail only on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
