On 8 November in Paro, Bhutan, the GNH Centre Bhutan (GNHCB) welcomed the world to the historic Dungkar Dzong in Pangbisa for the inaugural Global GNH Forum (GGF)—held to commemorate 50 years of Gross National Happiness and His Majesty the Fourth King Jigme Singye Wangchuck’s 70th Birth Anniversary.
Hosted under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Kesang Chodren Wangchuck, the Forum was guided by the theme “From Awareness to Action”, calling on global leaders to move beyond dialogue and translate shared values into meaningful, measurable change.
The Global GNH Forum convened an assembly of visionary leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, scholars, philanthropists, and young changemakers from around the world, with participants representing over 30 nationalities. Together, they explored how the principles of Gross National Happiness can inform leadership, policy, and practice in addressing today’s most pressing global challenges.
Rooted in Bhutan’s enduring philosophy of Gross National Happiness, the Forum honours the visionary leadership of His Majesty the Fourth King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, whose extraordinary legacy continues to inspire a development model grounded in wisdom, ethics, balance, and collective wellbeing.
