According to available information, a pit was dug inside a house in Janata Colony, Sulibele, and a ritual was being conducted when the Child Protection Unit received credible information. Acting swiftly, officials raided the house, rescued the baby, and shifted the child to a government shelter. The incident falls under the limits of the Sulibele Police Station.

Preliminary findings suggest that the accused couple had taken the baby from daily-wage workers in Kolar around eight months ago. Fake birth certificates were allegedly created in the names of the couple without following legal adoption procedures. During the raid, conflicting statements were given regarding the purpose of digging the pit, raising further suspicion.

The Child Welfare Committee has taken custody of the baby and initiated a detailed investigation into the alleged sacrifice ritual, illegal adoption, and blind belief practices. The rescued baby is reported to be safe and in good health.
