I believe that we all know most Balinese are Hindus. Based on their Saka Calendar, Nyepi is A New Year for Balinese Hindus. Nyepi is a public holiday in Indonesia but it celebrates only in Bali, known as A Day of Silence.
For Balinese Hindus, there are 4 main rituals on Nyepi Day;
Amati Geni means NO fire
Amati Karya : NO work
Amati Lelangon : NO pleasure
Amati Lelungan means NO traffic
NYEPI or A Day of Silence is a tradition that began in the past where Balinese must do a self-reflection on the behavior they have been doing in the past few years. They also believed that a silence for a whole day could drive away the evil spirits from Bali.
SITUATIONS IN BALI DURING NYEPI DAY
It makes a very unique experience; the whole island is in silence for 24 hours. That means everyone who stay in Bali on Nyepi Day, must respect or follow the Nyepi rituals.

The other important things we should know; We cannot make any loud of noise, cannot light a big fire or lights - everything’s must be kept in low.
