PLC programing tutorial for beginners | memory bit & TOF Timer practical exercise.
In our previous tutorial, we practiced using a TON timer with a physical push button and a green light. But there was a problem: we had to hold the button down the entire time for the timer to reach its goal.
Today, we’re going to fix that. We’ll be using internal memory bits to create a latch. By adding 'Latch' and 'Unlatch' logic, you only need to press the button once, and the timer will keep counting automatically. Let’s see the full video.
Memory bits are widely used in PLC programming to store logic status, create latching conditions, and control sequences.
The TOF timer is used when an output must remain ON for a certain time after the input turns OFF.
